  Always wonderful to receive one of M's distinctly chockablock postcards. Now living in New York, I (jokingly) requested that he condense his new home down to five words or less. To my surprise, he took up the challenge. To my un-surprise, his answers were superb:

1.  It is a difficult task.

2.  It's beautiful, horrible, frustrating, exciting.

3.  Many people moving at once.

4.  It's both less and more.

5.  Terrible contradictions, a wonderful city.

 

  Believe my favorite to be number three. Or four.
